Early doors are some of my favorite and most popular subjects. Many are used as part of a remodel or restoration project, But some prefer to mount them on a wall, at the end of a hall or other interesting space as a faux door. Others have had large cupboards built around them for kitchen storage. What ever the uses the possibilities are endless.

Scrimshaw designs have fascinated me lately. Of particular interest was a Scrim Shaw tooth of a large sperm whale taken off the coast of New Zealand while on the whale ship- Wiscasset (Wiscasset is spelled in old English.)

This 3-drawer oak chest was found in an old Inn in Topsham, Maine. It has an unusual drawing inside of one of the drawers and the name billy carved on the top~ which you can still see at the right angle and in the proper light.
